Davidson GOP Recognized as 3rd Most Engaged Party in the State

(Lexington, NC)--The Davidson County Republican Party was recently recognized as being the third most engaged Republican county party in the state by the North Carolina State Republican Party. Since taking office on March 27th, 2021, Chairman Christopher Jessup and Vice Chairman John Spillman have made it a priority to expand the online presence and outreach efforts of the Davidson GOP. Jessup even made this a central goal of his “First 100 Days” Initiative announced after he was first elected as Chairman.

Each week the North Carolina Republican Party’s Digital Director Sasha Duncan sends an email to party officials in all counties across the state to inform them of upcoming news, provide insight into party initiatives and showcase some of the accomplishments of the GOP. While the Davidson GOP did not take the top spot, this is the first time they have been recognized as one of the top five most engaged parties in the state. Other counties who made the list this week were Gaston County at the #1 spot, Durham and Wake at the second and fourth spots respectively, and Polk County taking fifth in the rankings. This however has not deterred the leadership of the Davidson GOP. According to Chairman Jessup, “Our party is establishing an online presence that we’ve never had before. I am excited to see how this continues to develop in the future.”

Having a substantial and robust online presence is the rule, not the exception in today’s political climate if any organization relating to politics wants to stay relevant. Vice Chairman Spillman also reiterated this fact by stating, “Grassroots movements in today’s political climate are started, fought and won largely online. This is why it is imperative that we continue to expand in meaningful ways the Davidson GOP’s online presence.”

Last month the local party featured Mark Walker at their monthly meeting which gained considerable traction on social media after being shared and retweeted by Mark Walker’s Campaign, Clarence Henderson and the NCGOP. “This continued expansion of online reach can only be achieved by networking and building relationships in our community and state,” said John Spillman.

In the future, the Davidson GOP plans on making more innovative strides using technology to continue to build on the momentum they have established under new leadership. In addition to their newly revamped website and curated and original content for both their Facebook Page and Twitter Feed, their next goal is to expand their content offerings on YouTube and other social media platforms.
