Chairman Jessup Comments on the Impact of Republican Voters Statewide

When it’s time to vote, don’t forget how important it is to vote the entire ballot. A great example of this occurred just last week in North Carolina when the North Carolina Supreme Court reinstated Voter Identification in our state.

Last fall, Democrats controlled the Supreme Court. These same Democrats previously struck down Voter Identification, which was enacted through a referendum voted on by the citizens of NC, interfering in the desire of North Carolina citizens to enhance election integrity in North Carolina elections. However, voters chose to replace two of the Democratic justices with Republicans, giving the majority on the court to the Republicans. This recent decision is yet another example of why it is important to have justices who believe in the North Carolina and US Constitutions and uphold the rule of law. It also serves as a reminder to make sure you vote the entire ballot, including Judges.

Davidson County citizens provided the votes that were instrumental in electing these two new Republican justices. Remember to vote the entire ballot as each race is important and has far-reaching impacts!
